How To Hang

Unpacking Your Items

  • Our hanging nylon decor items come brand new and packed in a protective bag.
  • During shipment your items are shipped flat, and once they get to their new home, you will have to "bring them to life" by slightly bending the soft wire frame of the wings or petals.
  • We also have found that if you slightly bend the wire frame on the butterflies and dragonflies into a slight upward shape it allows them to hang nicely to add the perfect touch and give them more dimension.
  • Most decorations are accented with glitter & sequins, so please be careful if little hands want to help you decorate because they are so excited and can't wait to decorate their rooms.
Items may contain small parts that may not be suitable for children of all ages. Small Parts

Hanging Your Items

  • Most of our nylon items come with fishing line and hoop already attached for easy hanging.
  • The fishing line and hoop can be removed if you would like - simply untie and gently remove from the nylon decoration.
  • Some of them hang vertically while other styles hang horizontally. If you want to add more fishing line to your nylon items, you can easily add some by poking the nylon fishing line through the fabric on the outer edge of one wing or petal and tie a small double knot.
  • With the other end of the string, repeat on the opposite wing or petal and then hang these for all to enjoy.
  • If you wish to extend the existing fishing line to hang it lower, simply add extra fishing line to the top nylon thread or hoop.

Hanging Your Decorations From The Ceiling

  • Most of our decorations include a piece of fishing line and hoop attached making it easy to hang from the ceiling.
  • Easily use the fishing line and hoop and hang from a glue dot, tack, cup hooks, small nail, or screw eyes.
  • You can even remove the hoop and just hang by the fishing line using a staple gun, wire brads, thumb-tack, upholstery nails to make these look like they are "flying" around the room.
  • If you wish to extend the fishing line or add various heights, simply add extra fishing line to the top nylon thread or hoop.
  • Most of the decorations come with the fishing line attached to the top wings and the bottom wings, allowing the decorations to hang horizontally from the ceiling.  If you want the decorations to hang vertically instead, simply & gently remove the fishing line from the bottom two wings.

Attaching Your Decorations To The Walls

  • If you are going to attach these to the walls, you can easily use the remove the attached fishing line and instead you can use a tack, wire brads, upholstery nails, stikkiwax, glue dots, small nail, staple gun, Velcro, or even double sided tape hidden behind the item to make it look like it "landed" on the wall.
  • To remove the attached fishing line, simply pull the knot where it is attached to the bug up sliding it on the fishing line, and being very careful cut the fishing line, and pull the free end to completely remove.
  • Hint: If you are hanging butterflies or dragonflies, you can take a small nail and push through the nylon fabric on the top of the bottom wing and hammer into the wall, then the nail will not be seen as the top wing will be overlapping.
  • If you use glue dots, please be aware that texture or paint finish may affect the effectiveness of the dots.
  • For 'beaded body' bugs:  A simple way to attach to the wall is to take the nail, brad or push pin and push it through the nylon fabric back behind the body and simply nail to the wall.  Please keep out of reach of children as you want to make sure little hands dont pull down the bug and detach from the wall.  Or you can also simply put a command strip, glue dots, velcro or even double sided tape to adhere to the wall.
  • For 'cloth body' bugs:  A simple way to attach to the walls is to take a nail, brad or push pin and push it through the nylon fabric body (just a thin layer of fabric, not through the entire body) and simply nail to the wall.  Please keep out of reach of children as you want to make sure little hands dont pull down the bug and detach from the wall.  Or you can simpy put a command strip, glue dots, velcro or even double sided tape to adhere to the wall.

Applying Your Alphabet, Wall Stickers & Growth Chart

  • When applying your wall & letter stickers, please do not touch the back of the sticker as much as possible it may cause them to not stick from the oils in your fingers.
  • For best results apply to a smooth, clean, flat surface (not textured) that does not get direct sunlight and air/heater vent exposure.
  • First lightly stick the letters to the wall and once you have chosen the location for the stickers, be sure and firmly press down the letters making sure they stay in place especially around the edges.
  • Please do not use any water or wallpaper scraping tools as that will damage the letters.
  • For best results wall paint should either be "flat" or "satin" as other shiny paints ("semi-gloss" or "high-gloss") may cause stickers not to adhere properly.
  • If your walls are newly painted, the manufacturer suggests waiting 30 days before applying the stickers to the walls.
  • High humidity locations or even bathrooms that receive a lot of moisture may cause the stickers not to adhere properly also.
  • Unfortunately due to the delicate nature of the stickers, please note refunds or exchanges are not accepted; see our return policy for more information.

Using Your Curtain Tie Backs

Tiebacks With Wires:

  • To use the beautiful curtain tiebacks to tie your curtains back with wires, use the bendable and adjustable wires to wrap around your curtains & display the pretty bug & smaller ribbons in the front of the curtain. The wires can be cut to any size you need with easy by simply cutting the excess wire with shears or pliers.
  • If you would like to attach the curtain tiebacks to the walls next to your curtains, simply attach the bug or bloom itself to the wall and with the wire strands, simply tie back the curtains so they swag towards the wall/window edge.
  • We suggest attaching the nylon bug or bloom directly to the walls if you have sheer or thin curtains that way the weight of the tieback does not slide.Or, if you are 'crafty' you can simply remove the wire straps and adhere some pretty ribbon of your choice for a custom look.
  • If you would like to tie the curtain tiebacks around your curtains like option A above and still be able to swag them back towards the window sill, simply add a wall hook to the window frame area and simply swag the curtain to the sides and slip onto the hook.
  • If the ribbons are slightly wrinkled, gently iron them on dry low setting.

Tiebacks With Ribbons:

  • To use the beautiful curtain tiebacks that tie your curtains back with ribbons, simply wrap the two longer pieces of ribbon around your curtains & tie to display the pretty bug & extra smaller ribbons in the front of the curtain.
  • If you would like to attach the curtain tiebacks to the walls next to your curtains, simply attach the bug or bloom itself to the wall and with the long pieces of ribbon, simply tie back the curtains so they swag towards the wall/window edge. We suggest attaching the nylon bug or bloom directly to the walls if you have sheer or thin curtains that way the weight of the tieback does not slide.
  • If you would like to tie the curtain tiebacks around your curtains like option A above and still be able to swag them back towards the window sill, simply add a wall hook to the window frame area and simply swag the curtain to the sides and slip onto the hook.

Hanging Your Ceiling Mobiles

  • To hang the mobiles, first remove the staples carefully from the cardboard packaging without forcefully pulling.
  • Find the clear round hanging hoop and hang the mobile or have someone help you hold the hoop so you can let the mobile hang down.
  • Untangle the bugs and blooms one by one carefully.
  • To balance the mobile, try to move the fishing line string to the left or right along the silver wire slowly.
  • On the bugs, bend the edges of the wings slightly downward to keep them parallel to the ground and then be captivated by their subtle movements.
  • You can also bend the top wing of the bug up towards the ceiling and the bottom wing down toward the ground to help balance the bugs on the wire rods. If you wish to extend the fishing line to hang it lower, simply add extra fishing line to the top nylon thread or hoop.
  • Hanging the mobiles does take a little bit of time, and sometimes an extra set of hands can also be very effective as well.
