Butterfly Life is the brainchild of Mark Golob, who has built a career in the health and fitness industry by successfully creating and executing business development and marketing strategies designed to increase profits and expansion. Mark has now surrounded himself with a dream team of fitness power-players, and his vision is rapidly taking shape.

Golob’s marketing savvy was shaped early in his career, promoting such mega-hit bands as Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springstein in concert. He continued using major entertainers and celebrities in promotions for his first health club, The Bodyworks Health and Fitness Center in Miami, in 1976. The club was one of the first to offer state-of-art fitness testing in its Human Performance Lab and in 1979 Mark’s club was an innovator in the world of fitness, offering Personal Training.

In 1981 Golob produced and promoted actress Jane Fonda in her live workouts, selling out every club she performed in. Golob then created Freedance, an aerobic workout taught at more than 200 health clubs nation wide. It included a workout video starring Marine Jahan, the dancer from the hit movie Flashdance. Freedance ranked in Billboard magazine’s top 10 list and was voted video of the year by Shape magazine.

In 1991, the founder of a fast-growing west coast fitness chain, Mark Mastrov, recruited the talented Golob and signed him on as vice president of marketing for 24 Hour Fitness. Golob created promotional campaigns with Pamela Anderson, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mike Tyson increasing membership and sales dramatically. During his tenure, Golob met Tom Gergley and they had the vision to create a California-based chain of women’s health clubs. In 1992 Women's workout and weight loss centers were born and Mark Golob became its CEO.

Since its inception, the company has rapidly grown from a single site to a successful chain of 18 locations throughout the state with more than 75,000 members. The recognition of women's workout and weight loss centers as the premier health club chain for women is a testament to Golob’s skill at creating and implementing effective branding and developing powerful marketing strategies that will fuel the rapid growth and prominence of Butterfly Life in the franchise health and fitness category.
