Us
Hello San Antonio!!
Butterfly Life is now open and growing in the North Central
area of town.
My name is Melissa (although you will quickly find that
I usually go by Missi), and I am the owner and operator
of San Antonios newest fitness club for women. I come to
you with 12 years in the medical field, with a knowledge
of anatomy, physiology, and LOTS of care and compassion.
Though my position has changed, my desire to help people
still remains the same. Part of my new job is to make sure
you are in a comfortable, encouraging environment, getting
a safe effective workout, having a good time doing it, and
best of all, reaching your goals!!! We will always be available
to you whether you need help getting through a few steps
in a class, help on the circuit, questions on nutrition
or weight loss, or just to chat for a few minutes. My point
is Butterfly Life is more than just a gym. We are a place
for women to spend time achieving life changing goals and
to share a bit of time and a few laughs with friends, old
and new.
Butterfly Life is a supportive environment with programs
designed for every level of fitness. Members range in age
from their 20's to their 80's, some who are long distance
runners and some who have never worked out before. Some
women want to lose 10 pounds and others 100 pounds. Some
come to us just for toning or to build bone mass. No matter
what your level of exercise experience or your health and
weight loss goal, come and see us. We will work with you
one on one to help you achieve your definition of success.
The 30-minute Circuit - The circuit workout
is a great way to burn calories, build strength and lose
weight. Butterfly Life has redesigned traditional weight
stacked exercise equipment specifically for women. Our equipment
is state-of-the art and allows our members to take their
30-minute circuit to the next level. The fifteen-station
strength training circuit consists of ten pieces of resistance
equipment and five cardio stations. Each is adjustable for
size and ability ensuring safe and effective results. Unlike
many of our competitor's equipment, Butterfly Life's equipment
has been designed to progress as each member progresses
in her workout so no matter what level you are at, you can
get a great workout. As you get stronger, you can increase
the resistance to avoid plateaus.
Life Vision Group Exercise Classes - Group
exercise classes are a fun and motivating way to keep your
workouts fresh. All of our classes are 30 minutes and lectures
are just 15 minutes. The schedule includes cardio classes,
sculpting classes, mind/body classes and lectures focusing
on nutrition, motivation, fashion and beauty. All the equipment
you'll need is available at the club and the classes are
taught by quality instructors and delivered through our
unique Life Vision format. Classes are available throughout
the day so no matter what time of day you work out you'll
have options. Schedules change monthly to add variety. We
want every Butterfly Life member to enjoy keeping fit as
much as we do. Toward this end, we provide a fun, safe,
welcoming, and non-competitive fitness environment. Classes
present and encourage modifications to make our classes
approachable for all fitness levels. The Butterfly Life
staff will help you choose which classes are right for you.
• Cardio - (short for cardiovascular)
classes are great for keeping the heart and lungs healthy
while burning a lot of calories in a short period of time.
These classes promote speedy weight loss and increase endurance.
Traditional low impact aerobics, various dance classes like
funk and Latin dance, step and kickboxing classes are all
examples of cardio classes.
• Sculpting - Tone and firm your
body with a variety of sculpting classes designed for strengthening.
These classes often use stability balls, bands and your
own body weight to create a challenging but attainable workout.
All equipment is available at the club for your use during
class.
• Mind/Body - Relax and de-stress
in our mind/body classes. Yoga and Pilates promote balance,
flexibility and peace of mind. Stretching mats are available
at the club for your use. Members are welcome to bring their
own yoga mats if preferred.
The 360 Degree Approach - We provide everything
you need to look and feel great. Our 15 minute lectures
focus on nutrition, weight loss, motivation, fashion and
beauty topics. In addition, we host live seminars "many
are free" on topics like self esteem, financial fitness,
self defense, women's health issues and more.
Weight Loss Express - Our 8-week nutrition
and exercise program. Learn to eat the foods that are in
your pantry with controlled calories and portion sizes.
You will cover topics like: Eating Out, Label Reading, and
Understanding what is RIGHT to eat to speed your metabolism
and lose weight. Combine that knowledge with group circuit
boot camps and exercise classes each week to see great results.
